Fractal:Intelligence
Edition Comparison
Fractal:Intelligence comes in several different editions tailored to meet your specific needs:
RealTime Edition
The premiere edition of Fractal:Intelligence allows you to create and edit Fractal Map Projects based on data drawn directly from Excel®, CSV files, XML files (any format), any OLE DB data source (including SQL Server™, Oracle®, DB2™ and Sybase®), any OLAP data source or from the Bloomberg™ market data feed (BBComm).
The Bloomberg™ data adapter works on a 'push' model receiving message-based updates concerning relevant market data and reflecting new data on screen in a sub-second timeframe. If required, further 'push'-based data adapters can be developed and leveraged using Fractal:SDK. The RealTime Edition can also poll any other data source on a continual basis to maintain an up-to-date representation of the data on screen.Enterprise Edition
The most flexible edition of Fractal:Intelligence required by businesses not concerned with real-time data allows you to create and edit projects based on data drawn from Excel®, CSV files, XML files (any format), any OLE DB data source (including SQL Server™, Oracle®, DB2™ and Sybase®), or from any OLAP data source.
If required, further data adapters can be developed and leveraged using Fractal:SDK.SQL Server 2005 Edition
This special edition of Fractal:Intelligence allows you to take full advantage of the latest innovations introduced with SQL Server™ 2005, in particular faster data querying and the unified OLAP model (UDM), and includes data adapters for the Database Engine, Analysis Services and Reporting Services.Excel Edition
The entry level edition of Fractal:Intelligence includes all of the Fractal Map Project creating and editing functionality included with the Enterprise Edition but can only draw data from Excel® - perfect for smaller businesses and individuals.Reader Edition
All of the above editions as well as Fractal:Server can publish Fractal Map Project files with data 'embedded' directly in the file. These files can be displayed by the Reader Edition without the need to connect to the original data source. Reader Edition is therefore an ideal cost-effective way of distributing Fractal:Intelligence projects to a wider audience without the extra Fractal Map Project creation and editing functionality and data connectivity included in the other editions.

By moving your mouse over a circle and "hovering" over it (by keeping the mouse still) for a short time, you will see labels appear to show you the titles of the page you are hovering over (at 12 o'clock) and the pages it is linked to.
In addition, the Fractal Map will show a "crumb trail" for the page you are viewing by highlighting the relevant circles in red. The smallest red circle represents the page you are viewing and any "parent" pages higher up in the website structure will also be highlighted red showing you the route you would take to reach the page. Note that the homepage itself is never coloured red in this way.
